Thenew SE is a great starter watch. You can consider the Series 8 if you want an always-on screen, or you could go for the Ultra if you want the most battery life possible and you don’t care about size or cost.
Youdon’t need Cellular to use Strava on the Watch. The bigger question is whether you should use Strava on the Watch at all. Personally, I’ve had terrible luck with Runkeeper and Nike Run Club apps being unstable, losing runs, etc. Super frustrating. I use the Apple Workout app (100% rock solid, even retains the run if you run out ofYesit will work when your phone is nearby or you are connected to a known Wifi network. Thanks :) If you get a cellular version, the sequence is phone, WiFi and Cellular. Cellular kicks in when out of range on the phone and WiFi. Cellular has the added benefit of just taking your Watch with you and not the phone.
Hey So at Best Buy, the Nike series 6 gps is the same price as the Nike series 5 cellular. We aren’t planning on buying a cellular plan at this very moment, but maybe in a couple of years when I go to college. Should I get the newest series 6 gps or the series 5 cellular?
Youcan stream music over cellular, but even that uses the battery quite fast, resulting in perhaps 4-5 hours of battery life instead of all day. I have used my watch for hikes in which the cellular and GPS were tracking my hike, but again, battery life was much shorter than just letting the watch connect to my iPhone by bluetooth.
