I am facing problem with my Ford Focus 05 number plate from yesterday. Yesterday evening it shows suddenly "Engine System Fault", then "Acceleration Reduced". I drive home like 5 miles without any problem but that message was showing.. Then this morning haven't seen any message. But, in the evening coming back home just now had more problem The "Engine System Fault" message on the dashboard after a few moments running was the initial indication of a problem. The Focus MK2/MK2.5 instrument clusters are known to cause these kind of problems. It is caused by bad quality soldering connections of the instrument cluster.

Car is a 56 plate Ford Focus TDCi I need to double check (bit of a car numpty), but I think we have the 1.8TDCi (cyclinder capacity is 1753). The Haynes Manual says the 1.6 and 2.0 have a particulate filter, but the 1.8 doesn't.
