Well, you also will get way more than only a mount. Yep, and imo the LS4 maps are some of the best in the game. The skyscale collections require you to visit all the LW4 maps.

There will be two sets of the the same mastery track, but basically if you do both tracks then your perks get extras. This isn't a time limitted thing - you are not rewarded for already having the skyscale in a way thats unfair to people.

Simply untrue. Skyscale provides much more control over your descent. The only thing skyscale can't do is plummet like glider or griffon. However,if you miss your mark with glider you can't just fly up a bit and try again like you can with skyscale. using updrafts and leylines to gain altitude much faster than a skyscale

There are two meta in SoTO so you will have to use Skyscale to get around on each floating Island during at least one meta and the main Wizard Tower meta is the same where you are supposed to use mounts during different phase to avoid getting killed while ground are getting swarmed by Kryptis and large AoEs.
In this way, even if players unlock the skyscale in SotO, if they want to use the wall climbing, the midair mounting and the rift flying puzzles, they are still forced to finish the LS4 collection.
