Go pick up another class, and start doing the MSQ. When you hit the level 70 MSQs, continue on SAM from there. The MSQ will give you ALL the XP you need, to hit 80 on your first job. Fun fact, if you started at level 1, and just followed the MSQ from level 1, it'd also carry you to 80, while also feeding you gear. Edit: Expansions are only playable after level 80. But you can get a mount (raptor) earlier if you don't care about story spoilers and have a helpful level 80 friend to carry you. Either expansion will unlock masteries (including Core Tyria) for you when you reach level 80 and do the first expansion story step. I bought the full game about four days ago and haven't been able to use my boost due to them being "temporarily disabled." I understand a short inconvenience for a couple days but this is getting really annoying. You need to be level 80 to get your first mount which would make progression 10x faster and more enjoyable for me. The class you boost WILL overwhelm you, not to mention you will be completely lost at 80, both story wise as well as content wise. The general recommendation I would give is, boost a class which: you are absolutely uninterested in leveling (or which can be a pain to level like elementalist or mesmer) Using the boost only cancels out the level-up rewards for the character you permanently skip to level 80. What if all my characters are already level 80? You can either create a new character or consume the boost with one of your existing level 80 characters. You can do anything. Level 80 boost doesnt affect your progression, just your level (and give some rewards and bad gear). Thanks, good to know. Yes, you will start with the level 10 story. A nice thing is that you wonβt feel like a god amongst men when level 80 and and doing level 10 personal story. Make a new character, use the boost, delete the character, hence and repeat. Use it. A level 80 character using it will get all the equipment, bags, etc. Then delete the crap you don't want. However, some classes get full exotic Celestial gear, which isn't a bad alternate set to keep.
On the surface the level 80 boost may appear to be a fun way for new players to get into the game and start having fun immediately and it is for aβ¦
IMO it's a lot more fun to do map completion at max level with all 3 traits and all utilities unlocked. So players can boost to 80 and then start doing map completion, and get all the things mentioned above, including keys for doing map complete. The Hero points they earn will work them towards unlocking an elite spec at that point.
