To "unlock" the elite specializations you need to have completely unlocked the base profession (just getting to level 80 should provide enough points to fully unlock the base training) and own the expansion that introduced the elite spec you want to unlock. Unlocking the elite spec will then cost you a total of 250 Hero Points per elite spec
Danikat.8537. There's more than enough points to unlock all the elite specs: Levelling up gets you 398 points, exactly enough to unlock all the base game skills and specialisations. Then there are 1,214 points available from hero challenges. Elite specs cost 250 points each, so 750 for all 3.
Hey, when you've hit 80, you'll have enough points to unlock all your core stuff. Now that you're playing expansion content, you'll also be able to unlock all elite specs for all classes. Try and keep an eye out for HoT Hero Point (HP) trains. All of the PoF ones can be done solo and they all reward 10 points each.
Tying masteries to hero points, specially when hero points were needed to get the elite specs and also knowing that after you get enough hero points to unlock the elite spec you don't have any reason to go for the other hero points unless you want to get 100% of the map was a bad decision. Masteries were a good idea poorly executed.
Hero challenges in expansion zones reward 10 Hero points compared to 1 point in Central Tyria, which makes them the primary method of training an elite specialization in the PvE game mode. Equipping traits . Traits become available for use after equipping the appropriate specialization in the Build tab of the Hero panel.
there's way more than 300 points in hero challenges all over the world. Each expansion has enough hero challenges to fully unlock the elite spec tied to that expansion (and a few challenges more, so you don't even need to do all of them), and all the ones in core tyria can be considered a spare.
After getting all hero points and unlocking all core things you have 214 left over, and you need at least 250 to reach the full track. Sure, only "170" for the actual elite spec, but the rest of the tiers are equipment and skin unlocks, however.. based on the datamined tracks so far, it would be silly to say "you can't have everything"
They have core class fully unlocked, MAYBE unlocked first point into some elite spec (you know, that one which gives you gimmick and weapon), maybe one or two traits and thats it. This is not to say that core classes are non viable but they are straight up weaker. Unlocking those specializations require hero points, 250 to be exact.
It does. In fact, every expansion comes with plenty of hero points that you have a lot of spares after maxing the elite spec of that expansion. Cool, thanks! Enough for 4 elite specialization. A character that has done every Hero Point in the game will have 464 points left after maxing all 3 elite specs.
